Weeding inspired creativity

Weeding has been on the agenda this week to reduce the number of shelves for non fiction we have for a renovation and redesign of the library that will be happening soon.

Some of the books were very old, outdated and irrelevant to the needs of our students. Many were very dusty, giving an indication of how often they had been borrowed. When weeding we use the guidelines given in the Texas State Libraries Document. I was also inspired to take some photos of our weeds and supplemented with other images to create a visual guide to weeding non fiction using Haiku Deck which you can view below.

I love the simplicity of Haiku Deck and how quickly fabulous presentations can be created using it.

Thanks Trish and Donna, I am glad you like it and find it useful. Weeding can be a daunting task, so hopefully it will be helpful to those who need a bit more guidance.
